I helped my younger siblings saw the front off of a laundry basket off and duct tape it to a skateboard. Then my brother put on a helmet and goggles and rode it down hills. It was pretty fun.

Did you hear that Luka Rocco Magnotta was notorious for killing kittens?! :o :0 :(

Yes. That would seem more terrible if he hadn’t also killed A PERSON, though.

A friend and I were giving feed-back for a group on mental health, and she almost wrote down “It’s insanely informative.” Which is ableist. And especially bad, given the mental health context. I don’t know why I’m telling people this. I just needed to say something.

have you thought about posting your work on tumblr/deviantart?

Not really. My art isn’t very good, and my writing is nothing out of the ordinary. I feel as though putting it on the internet would feel kinda silly.

“It’s a Wonderful Life, it seems to me, missed the point. The question isn’t: What would the world be like if George Bailey had never been born? The question is: Would the world be improved if George Bailey, at this point in time, jumped off this here bridge? Two very different questions. And while Clarence clearly makes the case that George Bailey should have been born, he oddly (suspiciously, one might say) skirts the issue of whether or not George Bailey’s family might be better off with a pile of insurance money than with the bitter, angry wreck that George Bailey has become.”

I’m writing an essay. My topic roughly translates to “The Pertinence of Christiania”. But I have no idea what to say. I wanted to simply do the history of Christiania, but my topic was changed to this. I just need to justify why Christiania is pertinent and a good thing. Anybody have help, or just want to talk about Christiania?

I had to write a two sentence bio for The Claremont Review. Without pronouns. Or irony (my decision). And without saying “Likes cats and books” (because: who doesn’t, and that doesn’t sum anything up). Even just trying to sum yourself up in two sentences is impossible.

What do you do the most of in your leisure time?

Internet, sadly.

“Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are god. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods.” ― Christopher Hitchens, The Portable Atheist: Essential Readings for the Nonbeliever

I’ve read this before. I enjoy it.

Do you like cats because they act like 40 year old divorcees? By that I mean they want periodic attention but are mostly independent.

Yes. And they’re soft and beautiful. They just make nice pets.
